Improve texture, tone and pigmentation with chemical peels in Oxford. Doctor led skin renewal treatments designed to brighten and refine your complexion safely.
Chemical Peel Treatment Overview
Chemical peels are a highly effective way to brighten the skin, refine texture and reduce pigmentation by exfoliating the skin’s upper layers in a controlled, medically supervised way. At Cannelle Skin Clinic in Oxford, all chemical peel treatments are carried out within our doctor led environment, ensuring your skin is thoroughly assessed and the correct peel strength is chosen for your skin type, condition and goals.
Chemical peels vary in intensity, ranging from gentle superficial peels designed to refresh and brighten, to medium depth peels used to improve pigmentation, acne scarring and visible skin ageing. Whether you want clearer pores, a more even skin tone, reduced fine lines or improved smoothness, chemical peels provide targeted, predictable and long lasting improvement.
Because every skin type responds differently, Dr Mattia and the team ensure all peels are tailored to your skin’s needs. Ideal for dullness, pigmentation, acne prone skin or early signs of ageing, chemical peels enhance natural radiance and support healthier, more refined skin over time.

At Cannelle Skin Clinic in Oxford, all chemical peel treatments are delivered within a doctor-led environment, ensuring your skin is properly assessed and the correct peel strength is selected for your skin type, condition and goals. Peels vary in intensity, from gentle superficial options designed to refresh and brighten, to medium-depth peels used to address pigmentation, acne scarring and visible signs of ageing. They can help reduce fine lines, improve uneven tone, unclog pores and create a more refined, balanced complexion. Ideal for dullness, pigmentation, acne-prone skin or early ageing, chemical peels provide targeted, predictable improvement and can complement other aesthetic treatments as part of a broader skin rejuvenation plan.
Because every skin type responds differently, Dr Mattia and the team tailor each peel to your individual needs, adjusting strength and approach to ensure both safety and results. With regular treatments, chemical peels support healthier skin function, enhance natural radiance and deliver long-lasting improvements in texture, smoothness and overall skin quality.
Your treatment begins with a consultation, during which your practitioner assesses your skin condition, sensitivity, concerns and goals. After cleansing the skin, the chosen chemical peel solution is applied. You may feel mild warmth, tingling or tightening as the peel activates. Treatment typically lasts between thirty and forty five minutes depending on the peel type.
Once the peel is neutralised or removed, soothing products and SPF are applied to protect and hydrate the skin. The skin may feel tight or appear slightly flushed immediately after treatment.
Your skin may feel warm or tight, similar to a mild sunburn. Depending on the peel strength, mild flaking or peeling may begin over the next two to five days. This is normal and indicates the skin is renewing itself. Makeup can usually be worn the next day unless advised otherwise.
Following a superficial peel, mild redness and tightness may last twenty four to forty eight hours, followed by light flaking. For medium depth peels, peeling may be more visible and occur between days three and seven. As old skin sheds, new skin appears smoother, clearer and brighter. Most patients see significant improvement within one to two weeks, with continued refinement over several weeks as cell turnover increases.
After a chemical peel, avoid picking or pulling at any peeling skin to prevent irritation. Avoid intense exercise for twenty four hours and avoid steam rooms, saunas and hot yoga for forty eight hours. Retinoids, exfoliants and active acids should be avoided for several days. Keep the skin hydrated with gentle moisturisers and apply SPF daily, as the skin is more sensitive to sun exposure during the healing phase. Makeup can usually be resumed after twenty four hours for light peels and slightly later for stronger peels.
Our patients return to us year after year for natural, balanced results. Every review reflects our commitment to precision, safety and a personalised approach to aesthetic care.
I had two waxings and a biofacial today. Holly was excellent, knowledgeable, and impeccable in her attention. The products also felt really lovely – the hot wax was painless and the facial products felt luxurious. The whole experience was the best I’ve ever had. Will come back.
I go to Cannelle for facials, manicures and pedicures. They are professional, skilled, and attentive to my needs. It’s a lovely and relaxing environment. Mursal gives such wonderful treatments. She is very knowledgable about skin care and very gentle in the application of the products. I see her every 6 weeks for a facial and my skin has never looked better.
Patients often choose chemical peels at Cannelle because they offer reliable, predictable improvement in pigmentation, dullness, texture and congestion. Many begin with a series of gentle peels spaced four to six weeks apart to gradually improve skin quality. Others choose a medium strength peel for targeted improvement in sun damage, uneven tone or early ageing.
A typical journey may include regular peels combined with skincare recommendations or complementary treatments such as Hydrafacial, microneedling or skin boosters. Over time, patients see progressive improvement in brightness, clarity and smoothness, leading to healthier, more radiant skin overall.
Chemical peels provide a controlled and highly effective way to exfoliate, brighten and renew the skin. They improve uneven tone, reduce pigmentation, clear congestion and refine texture, giving the skin a healthier, smoother and more luminous appearance. By stimulating natural cell turnover, peels soften fine lines, improve radiance and help maintain long term skin quality. Because they can be tailored to different concerns and skin sensitivities, chemical peels offer a versatile solution for rejuvenation with minimal downtime and reliable, consistent results.
